Famous board game publisher Mighty Boards is set to expand the Rebirth universe with the announcement of Rebirth II. Designed by legendary board game author Reiner Knizia and illustrated by Max Kosek and Vesna “vesner” Redesiuk, this new standalone title promises to immerse 2 to 4 players aged 10 and up in a devastated world where civilization is trying to rebuild. Far from the Scotland setting of the original game, survivors return to their ancient homelands to found self-governing city-states. Players take on the role of an Order of Oracles tasked with restoring farmland, settling cities, and uncovering ancient mysteries buried beneath the land.
Two New Maps and Fresh Strategic Mechanics
While Rebirth II retains the core tile-laying gameplay of the original, it introduces two brand-new maps: Greece and Italy. Each brings its own distinct play style thanks to the new City-State system. The Greece map emphasizes flexibility and open-ended exploration, featuring special “Exploration tokens” that allow players to modify the board during play. Meanwhile, the Italy map focuses on the individual powers of each city-state, enabling players to elect “Arbitrers” to gain unique abilities while visiting monasteries across the map for powerful one-time blessings.
