Spanish publisher Ludonova has unveiled its 2026 title: Green Gold, an economic strategy game designed by Toni López and illustrated by Laura Bevon.
The Green Gold of the 19th Century
In Victorian-era London, tea is no longer an exotic luxury reserved for the elite, but an everyday staple and a driving force behind British prosperity. From high-society drawing rooms to the bustling Thames docks, demand is booming.
As the head of a tea import office, players step into the shoes of ambitious merchants seeking to build the greatest fortune in the capital. To claim victory, you must secure the finest teas, fulfill lucrative contracts across the City, and wisely reinvest your profits into the stock market to capitalise on the growth of top-performing companies.
How It Plays
Green Gold is a worker placement and economic management game combining several key mechanics:
-
Resource & Office Management: Import tea, expand your enterprise, open trading posts, and upgrade your operations.
-
Contracts & The Crown: Fulfill orders throughout the City and serve tea to the Crown to boost your prestige and income.
-
Stock Market Investment: Negotiate in the City and purchase shares in competing companies to profit from their growth.
Game end is triggered when the Dividend token reaches the final space of its track or when all shares of 3 companies have been purchased. Following final scoring, the merchant with the most wealth claims victory.
