After making us tear open envelopes in The King’s Dilemma, grow magnificent forests in Evergreen, and manipulate magical ingredient marbles in Potion Explosion, the Italian geniuses from Horrible Guild are making a strong comeback. The studio has just revealed their next creation for 2026: The Amazing Journey.
Signed by the star designer duo Hjalmar Hach and Lorenzo Silva, this new title is already shaping up to be one of the major family and tactical adventures to keep a very close eye on.
What is this journey to the end of the world all about?
In The Amazing Journey, you play as intrepid travelers launched into a frantic race around the globe. The goal? To live the most memorable experiences and accumulate the most beautiful memories possible.
On the gameplay side, the game offers a smooth yet clever planning and movement mechanic:
-
Transportation Management: At each stage, you must meticulously check which vehicles (trains, hot air balloons, airplanes…) are available to optimize your journeys and avoid losing time on the road.
-
Meeting Points: The game encourages interaction by pushing you to cross paths with other players at various checkpoints on the map.
-
A Race for Memories: The goal is not just to rush to the finish line, because here, the story you have to tell upon your return matters just as much as the final destination.
Why is it a must-play?
Because Horrible Guild has a unique gift for transforming simple concepts into ultra-immersive and visually splendid mechanics. The game caters to a very wide audience (accessible from ages 8 and up), plays with 2 to 4 players, and offers dynamic sessions lasting 45 to 60 minutes. It is the perfect format to bring seasoned gamers and families together around a colorful board that instantly triggers wanderlust.
Ideal for: Armchair adventurers, fans of accessible tactical planning, and anyone who believes that the most important part of a journey is not the destination, but the path traveled.
Pack your bags and prepare your itineraries, boarding for The Amazing Journey is scheduled for soon!
