Narak is a deckbuilding game, harmoniously mixed with worker posing. Your task is to lead an expedition and explore the island of Narak to unlock the secrets of a lost civilization.
Above all, the game is strongly inspired by the Indiana Jones universe. You will explore different sites on the island, equip yourself with various objects and artifacts, and skillfully progress along the temple trail.
The game will take place over five rounds, offering an immersive and strategic experience.
How do you play?
We will play in turns. On your turn you can play a main action as well as an unlimited number of free actions represented by a lightning bolt.
The main actions are
- Excavate a site: pay the movement cost of your archaeologist on a discovered site and apply the effect of the site.
- Discover a new site: Pay the cost of exploration by compass to discover the newly drawn site. Pay the movement cost of your archaeologist and apply the effect of the site. Place a guardian on the site.
- Master a guardian: Pay the cost indicated at the bottom of the Guardian tile. Remove the Guardian and converse with him near you.
- Buy a card: you have two types of cards, objects payable in coins and artifacts payable in compasses.
- Play a card: play a card from your hand into your play area and apply its effect.
- Search: You decide to advance your notebook or magnifying glass on the research track by paying the indicated costs to gain bonuses and victory points at the end of the game.
- Pass
There will be several different strategies: discovering sites with the collection of idols and mastering the guardians, having many cards that earn points or getting on the research track and being the first to reach the end of the temple. You will have to find the right timing to have the resources to buy the card, get on the research track before the others and explore new sites or place yourself on sites with limited locations.
Is it good?
Narak, this is great. In Narak, everything is pleasant: the material to handle, the Indiana Jones-style artistic direction, the deckbuilding part, the worker pose part. Towards the end, everything depends on the resource, everything is tense. We will calculate the least possibility that will give us the most victory points. It is an ideal game to introduce and make board games loved by as many people as possible.
