Calling all fans of demanding Eurogames and dystopian urban planning! Following the success of Tramways, Small City, and Clinic, French designer Alban Viard is preparing his big comeback. He has just unveiled the Kickstarter pre-launch page for his brand-new standalone game: Arcologies, beautifully illustrated by Adrien Rives.
Two years after the Small City: Arcologies expansion (which allowed players to construct a single arcology), Alban Viard pushes his concept to its absolute limit, plunging us right inside a giant tower.
Welcome to the 24th Century: Happiness Is Measured in Milligrams!
In a future where 75 billion citizens have been reassigned into colossal vertical megastructures, you play as an administrator appointed by the Ministry of Vertical Development. Your mission: build and manage your very own 3D tower.
Your logistical duties include:
-
Vertical Development: Construct Residence, Commerce, and Office units.
-
Flow Management: Route population units through your Elevator network and produce Synthetic Food.
-
State Control: Provide government-approved Happiness for your citizens—scrupulously measured in milligrams!
Be warned, however: the Ministry will strictly inspect your results, and personal interpretation will not be considered!
Why Should You Follow the Campaign?
True to Alban Viard’s signature design style, Arcologies promises to be a brain-burning, highly architectural management game where 3D physical construction plays a central role in optimizing spaces and movement flows. With over 1,200 followers already subscribed to the page before launch, this campaign is shaping up to be heavily followed by the expert gaming community!
Ideal for: Fans of Small City and Clinic, lovers of dystopian city-builders, and any strategist who enjoys optimizing complex networks under the pressure of an authoritarian government.
