The popular board game adaptation of the cult-classic video game is growing even larger. Contention Games has officially launched a Kickstarter campaign for “Downfall,” an expansion that radically flips the player’s perspective.
Based on the ultra-popular mod for the original video game, the Downfall expansion introduces a “reverse” concept: instead of climbing the Spire as heroes, players now take on the roles of the villains. Their mission? To defend the Spire and band together to defeat Neow.

This expansion is more than just a character pack; it enriches the overall experience with new bosses to face, new player cards, as well as fresh boards and additional content.

The Kickstarter launch is already a massive triumph. At the time of publication, the campaign has raised nearly $3 million from over 15,000 backers—an impressive average of approximately $194 per backer.
For collectors, a special edition is available, notably featuring 92 acrylic tokens.
