Ark Nova, the critically acclaimed board game, is getting an ambitious new edition on Gamefound: the 3DITION, launched by Kekpop Spiele. This expanded version offers an even more immersive experience for strategy and management enthusiasts.
What is Ark Nova?
Created by Mathias Wigge, Ark Nova invites players to design a modern, scientific zoo committed to conservation projects. With a playtime of 90 to 150 minutes, it combines hand management, strategic placement, and long-term decision-making. The game stands out for its unique action system, where the strength of each action varies depending on its location, and its two scoring tracks (conservation and popularity) that create constant tension.
Since its release in 2021, Ark Nova has won several prestigious awards, including the As d’Or – Expert Game of the Year in 2023, and is ranked among the best board games on BoardGameGeek.
This new edition is more than just a reprint. It introduces improved components, including 3D tiles and double-layered player boards, for improved ergonomics and enhanced immersion. In addition, a “Big Box Accessory Expansion” is available, including storage elements and exclusive sponsor cards created by the designer himself.

The campaign is currently running on Gamefound, a crowdfunding platform dedicated to board games. Backers can choose from several levels of support, including options with or without 3D accessories.
