Review Scout

What's this?

Scout is a very clever little trick game playable by 2 to 5 players.

How do you play?

SCOUT presents several originalities: first, from the distribution of the cards, their arrangement in the hand is fixed, the second originality lies in the double meaning of the cards, offering two distinct values that the players can choose at the start of the round.

On your turn, the objective is to win the active trick, whether with higher value cards or by laying down more. You can play single cards, suits, doubles, triples, etc., as long as you surpass the active trick. The only condition is to play adjacent cards from your hand.

If you cannot or do not wish to play, then you must take one of the cards from the ends of the trick and place it in your hand wherever you want and in the direction you prefer.

A special action, usable once per round, allows you to recover a card from a trick and immediately replay it to win the trick.

The game takes place in several rounds, one per player.

Is it good?

Scout is an exceptional trick game. It is an ideal choice to liven up your aperitifs or as a prelude to a more substantial game.

Its rules can be explained in 30 seconds, allowing everyone to try it quickly. Smart, fast and elegant,

Scout stands out for the ingenuity of its two-way cards. You will have to wisely choose the right moment to strengthen your hand and create powerful combinations, while ensuring that you get rid of your cards at the right time to accumulate the most victory points before the other players. This game has captured my heart, and I heartily recommend it to everyone.
