Review Eleven Football Manager

What's this?

Eleven: Football manager Board game is taken from the eponymous video game Football manager. You will have to manage your football club for 6 weeks or 6 rounds. It’s a management and strategy game.

How do you play?

At the start of each round, you will improve your deck by adding new cards. Then, during the duel against your opponent, you will try to obtain the highest value to win the trick.

During the duel, if the opponent wins the trick, you will have to place your card on your “bench”, limited to 6 places. When it is filled or your deck of cards is exhausted, you have lost the round.

If you win, you will win the round trophy with victory points called “fans”.

The two finalists will be the ones with the most fans, requiring strategy to build your deck with cards with timely powers.

Is it good?

If you are thinking of simulating a football match, forget it, because Eleven is, like the video game, a game about managing and developing your club.

Mainly designed for solo play, it offers variations allowing transfers between players or match confrontations, but it is not really the interaction which constitutes the strength of the game. Its real strength lies in the complete management of your club, your staff, your players, your training, your stadium, your finances, etc.

If you are a fan of video games, football, or simply management games, this one is probably for you.
