How do you play?
➡️ Progress of a player’s turn:
The player draws a character tile from the cloth bag.
The player has two options:
1️⃣ Lay the tile without turning it over:
The player places the tile on the lowest square of a column of his boat. It then applies the tile’s immediate effect, if any. If the tile is placed on the highest square of a column, the player also applies his bonus, if there is one.
2️⃣ Flip the tile: The player turns the tile over and must place it on the lowest square of a column on his boat as for the first option.
➡️ End of the game:
The game ends as soon as a player has filled 4 columns on their boat. We total the accumulated coins and the end-of-game bonuses.
Is it good?
Captain Flip is a quick and easy board game. The rules are very easy to learn and explain, and games last around 30 minutes.
The game is dynamic and fun with its risk-taking mechanics, and it is replayable thanks to its double-sided Boat boards.
The lack of interaction and randomness may bother you, but it’s not so bad since the games only last 30 minutes and it remains a family/child game.
