What's this?
The goal is to become the hegemonic megapower at the end of Round 5 by leading the consensus table, which is calculated based on two indices: the Reputation Index and the Military Index.
How do you play?
The game is played over 5 rounds, each representing an increasing level of tension, starting at DEFCON 5 and ending at DEFCON 1. Each round is divided into 5 phases:
Initiative: update the initiative track.
Preparations: draw new action cards.
Investment: players spend their GDP to buy troops, missiles, fortifications, etc.
Conflict: land attacks, missile strikes, and naval combat.
Reorganization: redeployment of troops and adjustment of the Aggression Index.
The different actions:
➡️ Land attack:
Megapowers can attack bordering territories by deploying troops from their headquarters. Each player rolls as many combat dice as they have troops involved in the combat.
➡️ Missile Strike
Missiles can be used to strike any territory on the map, either to eliminate troops (conventional missile) or to completely annihilate a territory (nuclear missile).
➡️ Naval Attack
Fleets can attack sea areas controlled by an enemy fleet. Each fleet involved in the battle rolls a die to determine the outcome of the fight.
➡️ Sabotage
Use of Sabotage tokens to discredit a megapower. This action causes the target to lose a reputation level.
➡️ Investment
During the investment phase, megapowers spend their GDP to purchase military units or infrastructure (troops, missiles, fleets, fortifications, etc.).
➡️ Fleet Movement
A fleet can be moved from a controlled sea zone to another empty sea zone or one not controlled by an opponent.
➡️ Action Cards
Action cards play a key role and are activated during the preparation or conflict phases to influence the course of the game.
At the end of the 5th round, the player with the most points on the consensus table (Military Index + Reputation Index) wins the game.
