Odin: Play Your Cards Like a Viking!

What's this?

Odin is a trick-taking game with a Viking theme. The goal is simple: be the first to get rid of all your cards while accumulating the least amount of points possible.

How do you play?

Game progress:

On your turn, you have two choices:

Play one or more cards: You must place a card of a value strictly higher than that of the center. If you play several cards, they must have the same value or the same color, and their combined value is calculated by adding the numbers (e.g.: a 2 and an 8 form 82).

After playing, pick up a card from the center of the table (if available).

Pass: If you cannot or do not want to play, you pass.

End of a round:
A round ends if:

A player plays all of his cards.

A player starts a new round with cards of the same value or color.

At the end of the round, each player scores as many points as he has cards left in his hand.

End of the game:
For a first game, the objective is to reach 15 points. The game ends when a player reaches or exceeds this score, and the player with the fewest points wins. You can adjust this score for shorter or longer games.

Is it good?

Odin is an accessible trick-taking card game, ideal for quick games with friends or family.

It features a mechanic where players must get rid of their cards by placing stronger combinations than the previous ones, while being forced to recover a card from the previous set, thus adding a tactical touch.

A mechanic that obviously recalls the very good trick-taking game Scout.

In short, Odin is a fun and accessible game, perfect for relaxing moments, but which lacks originality if you already own Scout.
