Their press release: For almost 20 years, Matagot has been one of the recognized players in independent publishing in France and internationally. This journey has led us to build strong ties with many other independent publishing houses, and to offer a large catalog of games, whether foreign titles published in French or in-house creations.
This large catalog is a testament to our passion for gaming in all its forms, but our editorial line had become shapeless. We took advantage of GenCon to have fruitful discussions with our publisher friends and undertake a large-scale overhaul of our catalogs. From now on, Matagot will focus on children’s, family and initiated titles!
We are delighted to announce that our epic titles (Kemet, Inis, Yucatan, Galactic Renaissance) will be republished in English as part of a collaboration with Kolossal Games, publisher of the global success Western Legends. Kolossal will also continue to publish games in French such as Aeon’s end or Eclipse A new dawn for the galaxy, whose participatory campaign it supported. The excellent Kinfire Delve by Kevin Wilson is also planned.
The Pixel series games (Level ten, One Card Dungeon…), the Eurogames (Barony, Concordia, Photograph, Level 10, Djinn, Celtae, or the recent success Evenfall), also reserved for a rather expert audience, will be republished by Grail Games.
Finally, thanks to the continued trust of our partners, other games will be republished in French. This will be the case for example of Stonemaier games (Viticulture, Apiary, Scythe, Expeditions, or Stamp Swap coming soon), Leder Games (Root, Fort, Oath, Ahoy or the future Arcs), Aporta Games (Revive, Saltfjord), Chilifox Games (Footprints, Spectacular…), Maple Games (Expedition NorthWest Passage) and many others.
Our editorial line emerges clarified with a continuous search for original illustrations, strong themes and perfectly oiled mechanics. These values will continue to be an integral part of our history. Our future releases such as Bottle Imp and Kyoto no Neko expected in October are proof of this.
